Fitch Ratings-Taipei/Hongkong/Singapore-19 September 2006: Fitch Ratings will host a Structured Finance & CDO Conference 2006 in Taipei on Thursday, 28 September, 13:00 - 16:30, focusing on key issues pertinent to Taiwan's structured finance markets. The presentations will be in Mandarin and English with simultaneous translation.

Key speakers include Jonathan Lee, Senior Director, Financial Institutions as well as senior members of Fitch's structured finance team from Taipei, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Included in the topics of discussion will be the performance of Taiwan's credit cards sector as well as the resultant impact on credit card asset-backed securities ("ABS"). Fitch will also review the mechanisms in place to protect credit card investors.

Next on the agenda, the agency will take a look at residential mortgage-backed securities ("RMBS"), why issuers go offshore and share Fitch's global experience on cross-border transactions.

Following this, Fitch will elaborate on CDO Asset Manager Ratings ("CAM ratings"), explaining how and why Fitch rates CDO asset managers, the benefits of a CAM rating to managers and investors and the role of CDO asset managers in collateralised debt obligations ("CDO") transactions.

Also on the agenda, a discussion of rating stability of synthetic CDOs. As part of this discussion, Fitch will explain how it analyses the short-term ratings stability of synthetic CDOs by way of its recently introduced Stability Scores. This will be followed by the introduction and review of Fitch's Risk Analytics Platform for Credit Derivatives ("RAP CD"), a risk management service for synthetic CDOs.

Finally, Fitch's senior structured finance analysts and several external Taiwan market participants will form a panel to debate which deal types will feature for the rest of the year and into next, whether volumes will incline more towards asset-backed commercial paper ("ABCP") than term notes, whether the regulator/the investor has a preference for managed versus static deals, whether and why local banks are now looking to on-balance-sheet CLOs and what deal types Taiwanese investors are looking at - CDO squared, Market Value deals, CPPI etc.

Admission is complimentary but pre-registration is required. Please RSVP by 25 September 2006. The venue details and contacts for the conference are as follows:
